Everything at America's Job Center of Kern is free: job search help, resume workshops, training programs, and computers you can use for applications. The main center sits at 1600 E. Belle Terrace in Bakersfield, open weekdays 8am–5pm, with satellite offices in Delano, Ridgecrest, Taft, and other towns.
Walking in works. First visits generally start with a conversation about what you're after (a job this month, a resume rebuilt, training toward something better paid), and staff route you from there to the right workshop, program, or computer station. The computers matter more than they sound: most applications are online now, and the center pairs the machine with a person who can help when a form fights back.
