Arizona WIC
Last updated August 2026
Arizona WIC provides healthy food, nutrition support, and referrals for people through pregnancy and postpartum, and for children until their fifth birthday. Benefits arrive on an eWIC card with the EZWIC shopping app. Start your application online at myazwic.com, which includes a how-to video, find a clinic through the state clinic search, or call 1-800-252-5942.
The adult applying does not need to be the mother. Any caregiver can apply on a child's behalf: fathers, grandparents, foster parents, guardians. If a child under 5 is in your care and money is tight, this program is for your household.
Right now the package is bigger than usual: Arizona WIC is temporarily paying an enhanced fruit and vegetable benefit for women and children. Families who assume WIC is only milk and formula are leaving fresh produce money unclaimed. The boost is labeled temporary, so enroll while it runs.
The setup is an appointment at a local clinic: eligibility check, a nutrition conversation, and your eWIC card. Call ahead to ask exactly what to bring so one visit finishes it. After that, the EZWIC app shows your current benefits and helps you shop, and a dedicated Shoppers Helpline handles card and food-list questions.
Treat the clinic as a doorway, not just a food counter. Arizona WIC clinics refer families to immunizations and other community resources, and the staff know the local landscape well. If getting to a clinic is hard, say so when you call; staff can often point you to a closer site or walk more of the process through by phone before the visit.
WIC adds to the grocery budget; it does not replace it. Nutrition Assistance carries the core food budget and a household can hold both; apply at healthearizonaplus.gov. A pregnancy is also the moment to apply for AHCCCS, and for food today, dial 2-1-1 for the nearest pantry.
