The Idaho Child Care Program, ICCP, helps working families pay part of the cost of child care. It serves children under age 13, or children over 13 who have a disability. You apply online at idalink.idaho.gov, or by phone at 1-877-456-1233. The same portal handles SNAP, Medicaid, and cash help.
You qualify through an approved activity. Parents qualify while working, attending school in person, taking part in job training, or taking part in the TAFI program. One rule to note is that online-only school does not count. The school attendance must be in person.
The help is a shared cost. Parents pay a share of the cost, called a copay, directly to the child care provider. So ICCP covers part of the bill, and you cover the rest. Plan for your copay when you choose a provider.
Your amount depends on a few things. The assistance amount depends on the hours you work or spend in approved activities, your household income, and the state rate for the child's age, care type, and provider location. Because these change from family to family, the program sets your exact amount.
Eligibility is income-based. Households must meet certain eligibility and income requirements to receive ICCP benefits. The program serves income-eligible households, and the department checks your case, so you may qualify even if you are not sure.
