SNAP looks at your household income first. For a household of four, the monthly income limit is $3,483. That figure took effect in October 2025. Smaller and larger households have their own limits for their size. The Department of Health and Welfare runs your exact numbers, so you may qualify even if you are close to the line. The program decides, not you, so it is worth applying.
Idaho also keeps an asset test. Most households must have countable resources under $5,000 to qualify. That total can include cash, bank accounts, stocks, property, and extra vehicles. This matters because Idaho does not drop the resource test the way some states do. Add up your countable resources before you apply so you know where you stand.
Every application includes an interview. The department contacts you after it receives and reviews your application, so watch for that call.
