Missouri WIC provides supplemental nutrition support for pregnant women, breastfeeding women until the baby's first birthday, postpartum women up to six months, infants, and children until their fifth birthday. Who can apply is broader than the stereotype. Fathers, grandparents, guardians, and foster parents may apply for WIC benefits for children living in their household. If a young child is in your care, this program is for your household.
The income line is 185 percent of the federal poverty level, well above SNAP's cutoff, so a working family that does not qualify for food stamps may still qualify for WIC.
