Oregon WIC

Oregon WIC supports families from pregnancy through a child's fifth birthday with nutritious food, breastfeeding help, and a caring community, through local clinics across the state. To apply, call a local WIC program or dial 211 (TTY relay 711, or 1-800-735-2900), or complete the online WIC Interest Form and staff will contact you.

Eligibility rests on four things: live in Oregon; be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, an infant, or a child under 5; have household income under 185 percent of the federal poverty limit; and have a nutritional need. The income limits effective July 2026 run from $29,526 a year for one person to $61,050 for a family of four, plus $10,508 per additional member.

Here is the income shortcut: if you are fully eligible for the Oregon Health Plan, TANF, or SNAP, you are automatically income-eligible for WIC. And a pregnant applicant can count the unborn baby, and each additional fetus in a multiple pregnancy, as an added household member, which raises the limit.

One myth worth killing: you do not have to be unemployed. Oregon notes that 71 percent of WIC families are employed, so a working household with young children very often qualifies.

The online prescreening tool and Interest Form are estimates only, not an application. You must still visit your local WIC clinic in person to enroll, so treat the online step as a head start, not the finish line.

Benefits load on an eWIC card used at authorized stores, and a new Oregon WIC Food List took effect July 2025. You can find a clinic or store, view the food list, take nutrition courses online, and shop through the Farm Direct Nutrition Program. WIC adds to the grocery budget; a household can hold both WIC and SNAP.
