If you're not safe at home, or have nowhere to sleep, call (661) 327-1091. The Open Door Network's crisis line answers 24 hours a day, and connects survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, as well as people facing homelessness, to shelter and support.
When you call, a trained person answers and you set the pace. Describe what's happening, or just say you need somewhere safe; either opens the door. You don't have to be certain it "counts" as abuse to call, you don't have to be ready to leave, and calling commits you to nothing. Information is a legitimate reason to dial.
If shelter is the need, ask the practical questions directly: what you can bring, whether your children come with you (families with children are served), and how quickly a bed can happen. Placement depends on space, so the honest answer varies. Sorting exactly that is what the 24-hour line is for, at whatever hour you can safely make the call. If you can't talk safely right now, call when you can. The line doesn't close.

Yes. Calling doesn't start a process or commit you to leaving; plenty of calls are about understanding options. The line is confidential and answered by people trained for exactly this conversation.
Can my kids come with me to shelter?
Families with children are served. Say who would be coming when you call so staff can plan for the space your family needs.
I'm facing homelessness but not violence. Is this still for me?
