File online through IDES at ides.illinois.gov. Expect ILogin, the state's own identity system with multi-factor verification; Illinois does not use ID.me. You qualify with at least $1,600 in base-period wages, including $440 outside your best quarter.
The rhythm: certify every two weeks on your assigned day, online or through Tele-Serve at (312) 338-4337, with Thursdays and Fridays as make-up days. Keep an active work search with records, and register at IllinoisJobLink.com. The first week of the claim is an unpaid waiting week.
One logistics note: paper checks ended in July 2026, so pick direct deposit or the debit card when you file.
Denied? Appeals get 30 days from the mailing date, heard by phone with an IDES referee, and another 30 for the next level.
