Unemployment Insurance (Oklahoma OESC)

If you lost your job through no fault of your own, file your Oklahoma unemployment claim online through the OESC Claimant Portal at claimantportal.oesc.ok.gov. Your weekly amount is computed from your base-period wages under state law.

To qualify, you must be able and available for work, have earned at least $1,500 from a covered employer in your base period, and meet the one-and-a-half rule: your total base-period wages must be at least one and a half times your highest single quarter.

There is registration to do beyond the claim. You must set up a job-seeker account on EmployOklahoma, the state's OKJobMatch system, and upload a current resume.

The weekly routine keeps benefits flowing. Each week, conduct and record at least two work-search efforts, like applications, interviews, or reemployment workshops, and file your weekly certification. Miss the certification and payment stops.

One timing rule: Oklahoma law requires a one-week unpaid waiting period. You are not paid for that week, but it does not reduce your total entitlement.
