Apple Health is Washington's Medicaid. Adults 19 through 64 qualify on income alone: $1,835 a month for one person, $2,490 for two, $3,142 for three, $3,795 for four, under the current chart. The kids' rules reach much further than the adult line. Free Apple Health for Kids runs to $2,860 a month for a one-person household, $4,896 for three, $5,913 for four. Above the free level, uninsured kids can still enroll with premiums of $20 or $30 per child per month, capped at $40 or $60 per family, up to roughly $7,218 a month for a family of three. Children on free coverage keep it through the month they turn 6 no matter what; older kids get 12 months of continuous eligibility.
For immigrant families, read this paragraph twice. Apple Health Expansion, the program open regardless of immigration status, hit its funded enrollment cap and is not taking new enrollees right now. But pregnancy coverage and After-Pregnancy Coverage, 12 months postpartum, remain open to everyone regardless of status. And the agency states it does not share client information with immigration agencies including ICE, and that Expansion eligibility is exempt from the public charge test.
