Oklahoma's Weatherization Assistance Program makes free energy-efficiency improvements to lower your utility bills for good. It is administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and delivered through local Community Action Agencies, not the housing or human services agency. Because the work stays with the home, the savings repeat for years.
The income line is 200 percent of the federal poverty level, and both homeowners and renters can qualify. That line reaches well into working-household territory, so a job does not rule you out.
