East Stokes Outreach Ministry

Last updated August 2026

East Stokes Outreach Ministry serves the eastern side of Stokes County from 301 W. 3rd Street in Walnut Cove. Three kinds of help live under one roof: a food pantry with fresh food, open Monday through Friday from 9am to 11:30am; a thrift store with low-cost clothing and household items; and emergency financial assistance for hard times. Call (336) 591-3237.

The pantry's morning window is the anchor. If you need food this week, go between 9 and 11:30 on a weekday, and call first if you can so they can tell you what to expect on your first visit.

The emergency financial help is intentionally flexible; their site does not publish a fixed list of what bills qualify. If you are behind on a utility or another essential bill, call and explain your situation. If they cannot cover it, Crisis Control Ministry in Winston-Salem, (336) 724-7453, serves all of Stokes County for rent, utilities, and heating fuel.
