Healthy Texas Women

Healthy Texas Women is free health care for uninsured Texas women aged 15 to 44. It covers well-woman exams, all major kinds of birth control, pregnancy tests, STI care, and breast and cervical cancer checks. It also screens for and treats diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. No fees, no copays. Covered prescriptions are free at the right pharmacies.
The income limit went up in March 2026. It is now $2,716 a month for a single woman, $5,616 for a household of four. You must be uninsured, not pregnant, and living in Texas as a citizen or qualified immigrant. Women 18 to 44 apply for themselves. Teens 15 to 17 apply through a parent or guardian.
Had a baby in the last year? Say so on the application. HTW Plus then adds more help, automatically: therapy and mental health care, heart checks and medicine, and drug and alcohol treatment. There is no separate form.
Did your pregnancy Medicaid just end? Watch the mail before doing anything. Many women are moved into HTW automatically and simply get a letter and a pink card. Questions: call 2-1-1.
Apply at YourTexasBenefits.com, but use a desktop; the form does not work on phones. Or call 2-1-1 weekdays 8 to 6, mail or fax the form, or apply in person at a clinic, sometimes with same-day care. Coverage lasts a year and renews by mail. The Find a Doctor tool on healthytexaswomen.org picks your provider.

Apply at YourTexasBenefits.com from a desktop computer, call 2-1-1 (weekdays 8-6), mail or fax the form, or apply in person at a participating clinic.

Had a baby within 12 months? Note it on the application; HTW Plus postpartum benefits attach automatically.

Send proof of identity, income, and citizenship or immigration status. Identity proof only ever has to be sent once.

My pregnancy Medicaid is ending. Do I reapply?
Maybe not. Many women are automatically enrolled in HTW when Medicaid for Pregnant Women ends and get a letter plus a pink card in the mail. Call 2-1-1 if nothing arrives.
Why won't the online application work on my phone?
The YourTexasBenefits online HTW application is desktop-only. Use a computer, call 2-1-1, or apply in person at a participating clinic instead.
