The weekly amount depends on how much you earned. As of July 5, 2026, the weekly benefit ranges from a minimum of $48 to a maximum of $671. Your own amount is set by your earnings during your base period, which is the recent work history the state looks at. When you file, your paperwork tells you the exact amount you will receive.
The payments do not last forever, so plan around the limit. You can receive full unemployment benefits for up to 26 weeks during your benefit year. The exact number of weeks depends on your base period earnings and the limits set by Wyoming law, so treat 26 weeks as the top of the range.
Staying eligible takes a little work each week. You must file a weekly claim, be able and available to work, and keep looking for a job. You also have to do and record work searches, keeping a written note of the date of each contact, the business name, its address or phone, the position you applied for, and what happened. The state can ask to see these records, so keep them.
How much you work in a week affects your check. If you earn more than half of your weekly benefit amount, your benefit is reduced. If your earnings are equal to or more than your weekly benefit amount, or if you work 35 hours or more in a week, you get no benefit for that week. Report any earnings honestly for the week you did the work.
A few rules can cost you benefits, so know them going in. You can be disqualified for reasons like quitting your last job without a good reason, and while disqualified you get no payments until the issue is resolved. One helpful rule: if you earned wages in more than one state, you can file in any state where you earned wages during your base period.
